Requirements
Equipment & Recording Standards

Select your role to see what you need. Phone recording is acceptable if using a proper audio interface — the interface is the requirement, not the device.

  • Interface: Focusrite Scarlett Solo, Behringer UM2, PreSonus AudioBox, or equivalent
  • Signal: Guitar direct into interface — no microphone on amp
  • Amp Sim: Neural DSP, Guitar Rig, GarageBand built-in, BIAS FX, or equivalent — free options fine
  • DAW: Audacity (free), GarageBand (free), Reaper, Pro Tools — all acceptable
  • Environment: Quiet recording space — zero background noise
Tip: Send both a dry (clean DI) and wet (amp sim processed) version. If your tone doesn't fit we can re-amp the dry signal without asking you to re-record.
  • Interface: Focusrite Scarlett Solo, Scarlett 2i2, PreSonus AudioBox, or equivalent
  • Microphone: Audio-Technica AT2020, Shure SM7B, Rode NT1, Blue Yeti (USB acceptable), or equivalent
  • Pop Filter: Strongly recommended — reduces plosives
  • DAW: Audacity (free), GarageBand (free), Reaper, Pro Tools — all acceptable
  • Space: Treated room preferred — closet with clothes, padded walls, or acoustic panels. Zero echo or reverb in room.
Remember: Support and backup vocals. Lead vocalist opportunities may open in the future.
  • Electronic Kit (preferred): Roland V-Drums, Alesis Nitro/Strike, Yamaha DTX series, or equivalent
  • Acoustic (accepted if): Professionally mic'd — minimum 4-mic setup: kick, snare, two overheads
  • Drum VST (accepted): Steven Slate Drums, Superior Drummer, EZdrummer, or equivalent
  • Interface: Focusrite Scarlett 4i4, PreSonus Studio 24c, or equivalent with enough inputs
  • DAW: Audacity (free), GarageBand (free), Reaper, Pro Tools — all acceptable
Tip: Electronic kit or VST submissions are easiest to work with. Clean MIDI-triggered samples make the final master significantly easier to process.

Do Not Submit

  • Phone mic recordings — an interface is required for all submissions
  • Laptop built-in microphone recordings
  • MP3 files — WAV only, 24-bit minimum
  • Compressed or limited audio — send it clean and unmastered
